How it started

How did we start?
We began dreaming up idea of Kings& Co before we were even married. We sat in the car on multiple occasions and talked about how we would love to own a small shop one day. After we were married we began putting more thought into this dream. We sat down on many occasions throughout the years and made a game plan for what our small business would be. We dreamed about what it could turn into and how much we would enjoy working together. These ideas sat in a notebook for the first three years of marriage. We would occasionally pick that notebook up and let our passions rise up again inside us to make this dream a reality, but life would move on and we would get busy. Those dreams would get pushed back while we navigated the life around us. In Spring of 2020 We pulled that notebook out and said to each other “why not now.” We took the plunge and dove into the scary unknowns of selling our handmade items. We started slow and enjoyed the pace of creating each item for each person. We still enjoy making each item, but now we design and create at a different pace. (And are so so thankful we do!) Our first few sales were on our own private instagram accounts. As the orders started picking up we moved everything over to it’s own instagram account, opened an Esty shop, and picked a name. Picking our shops name might have been one of the most challenging things we’ve ever done. Yes, that’s an exaggeration but it did take a long time. We wanted a name that meant something to us yet also gave room for us to collaborate with other artists and branch out to adopt some of our other passions. We landed on Kings&Co! After many hours (and days) of tossing other names around we came to the conclusion that nothing is more personal than your own last name and by adding “co” to the end allows us to expand our brand however much or little we would like. We are excited for what the future holds for Kings&Co and are incredibly thankful that you are here.

And there was a very short story of how we started.
